Year 4 had a fantastic day learning about the Saxons. Our workshop was lead by a fantastic modern day Saxon who gave us a deep insight to Saxon life including lots of blood and gore! We thoroughly enjoyed it!
It is our School Sports Day on Wednesday 22nd June and fingers crossed but the forecast looks glorious. If there are any parents able to help with any of the bases that would be most appreciated.
For the first time, we are also including a Race for Life for Cancer Research, when we will be inviting parents and children to join us in the Oglethorpe Mile at 12:30. We will of course be shaking our buckets on the day but if you prefer to donate on-line (and add in the Gift-Aid) here is the link: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/the-james-oglethorpe-primary-school23-06-2016
How do you have yours? Cream first then jam, or jam and then cream? These were the dilemnas facing year 5 and 6 this afternoon as they sat down to a delicious cream tea. We made the scones this morning and enjoyed a cream tea washed down with a cup of tea in traditional British Fashion. As you can see, some of us were practising our royal wave too! A wonderful way for us to start this week of British Celebrations.
