Class 12 Harry Potter Maths

To celebrate Harry Potter Day, Class 12 had a magical maths lesson to fit in with their learning on data this week. We decided to sort ourselves into the Hogwarts houses through a quick quiz. Using the results we then created a tally graph to show this data clearly. After that we transferred it onto our bar graphs. To add to the magic, we had our Harry Potter music playing in the background whilst we learned!

Reception Spring Workshop

Reception had a wonderful afternoon at their Spring Workshop.  The children and parents enjoyed cakes, and juice.  There was lots of spring crafting, including daffodil sun catchers, heart garlands, decoupage flower pots and beautiful spring butterflies.
We have so far raised £60 for Marie Curie from the sale of the crafts and daffodils and refreshments.
Those parents that couldn’t make the wo…rkshop can have the opportunity to purchase the daffodils and crafts the children have made after school on Friday in the reception outdoor area.
Don’t forget to send your fund raising envelopes in too,  when you have collected money from family and friends.  Please could we have them returned by Thursday 12th February so we can send all monies to Marie Curie before half term.
Thanks again to everyone who came this afternoon and made it such a success.

Class 6 ICT

Class 6 are enjoying their ‘debugging’ element of their Scratch ICT work and have already started to explore creating backgrounds. As you can see they love experimenting.

Class 6 Harry Potter

Class 6 enjoyed creating their magic wands and learning about characters from the Harry Potter series of books during Harry Potter Day.

Class 5 Jack and the Beanstalk

For our food topic Class 5 have been reading Jack and Beanstalk, retelling the story, painting their own giants, researching where food comes from using the laptops and making a vegetable and rice mountain in cooking.

Class 12 birdwatch

Class 12 wrapped up warm and embarked on a bird watching adventure! Many children brought in bread and bird food to entice the birds in. We were lucky enough to see our resident woodpecker and a heron but our most popular birds were magpies and seagulls. Hopefully the smaller birds will build up their confidence over the next few weeks so we have a few more sightings to share with you.

Class 6 badminton

Class 6 worked brilliantly with a badminton coach today. They  practised  ways of using a shuttlecock with throwing and catching skills as well as using their hands to mimic a badminton racket and trying out forehand and backhand hits.
Their behaviour was a credit to JOPS.
